Hartford is well known as the Insurance Capital of The World, with more than 150 insurance companies located in the Region. The industry has a $14 billion output, a 6.7 location quotient (concentration), and provides more than 33,000 jobs.

While we’re immensely honored to possess such a title, the Hartford Region boasts much more. In addition to insurance and financial services, it’s home to thriving, innovative industries including aerospace and defense, manufacturing, healthcare, and media and entertainment. The region also offers a more competitive cost of doing business than Boston, New York City, and California, and Connecticut benefits from the most Fortune 500 companies per capita in the nation.
