Hartford, Conn. (July 7, 2015)
- Harvard Pilgrim Health Care announced today that its Connecticut membership now exceeds 10,000. The not-for-profit health plan began offering coverage in Connecticut in mid-2014.
"We couldn't be happier with the great reception we've received in Connecticut,” said Jason Madrak, Harvard Pilgrim’s Connecticut Vice President. “I think the market here was ready for a high quality, not-for profit alternative to the large carriers in the state, and I think our early sales success reflects that.”
"With our large provider network, competitive pricing, and long-standing reputation as one of the highest rated health plans in the country, we've seen tremendous interest in our products." said Kathy Kukowski, Senior Director of Sales. "The number of requests for Harvard Pilgrim quotes continues to rise each month, and we are very excited for a robust second half of the year."
Connecticut is adjacent to Harvard Pilgrim’s existing market in New England, which includes Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. With its entry to Connecticut, it became the only not-for-profit, regional health plan operating in four contiguous New England states.
