The Joy of Art! is a multifaceted initiative that includes “The Art Inventory” which offers patients a selection of artwork from the program’s inventory for the enjoyment of the hospital environment. In addition, the Joy of Art! offers multiple in-house art exhibitions affording patients, family members, visitors, staff, and members of the community the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful artwork gracing the walls of the hospital. The program also raises funds through commission proceeds of sold exhibition artwork.

“Creative Expressions,” a form of art therapy, is the latest addition to Joy of Art! The enhanced program now fosters patients’ interests with cultivation of the arts in mind. HSC appreciates the value of art in the healing process and its mission reflects the importance of this program in combination with traditional therapies in recovery for patients. Creative Expressions provides patients with the opportunity to expand their creativity in the areas of painting, sculpture, art history, drawing and photography.
