Event Description:

This is a time of both deep anxiety and exciting dynamism in U.S. health care. The new Administration and Congress plans to roll back key elements of the Affordable Care Act, change Medicaid payments to states, and reduce the government’s role in setting national standards for coverage or quality. Is the 2016 election a pothole on the road to value-based care?

David Lansky will review trends including the expansion of Health Savings Accounts, consumers’ growing importance in the market, employers’ use of centers of excellence, advanced medical homes, accountable care organizations and high-deductible health plans and will outline a path of “co-evolution” to resolve these profound tensions.
